Dover is owned by the McMasters’ group of accountants, solicitors and financial planners, and is located at 71 Tulip Street, Cheltenham, in Victoria.

The Dover Experience provides the skills and resources of the McMasters' group of accountants, solicitors, financial planners and property consultants. McMasters' has more than 70 staff and consultants, and is the largest accounting/financial planning and legal practice specialising in medical and dental practices in Australia, and is a leading SMSF administrator. McMasters' also provides real estate consultancy and practice management services.

The McMasters' group encourages each Dover representative to tap into the resources of the McMasters' group to provide better and more cost efficient services to their own clients. This empowers the Dover representatives and allows them to increase and extend the range of services provided to their own clients.

McMasters' helps each Dover representative develop their own financial planning practice.

Origins and inspiration
 
Dover started life as a registered training organization specializing in RG146 training and other financial planning training for financial planners. 

In 2007 Dover moved into the AFSL area in response to graduate requests for a simple, "no interference" and low cost ASFL that allowed them to put their clients first and did not lock them into particular brands. Dover is now one of Australia's leading AFSL dealer groups and provides a uniquely cost efficient service. Dover has created the Dover Experience to allow each of its representatives, however small, provide the full range of financial planning and advisory services to their clients. The Dover Experience covers legal issues, accounting services, property, insurances, estate planning, and superannuation, particularly self managed superannuation funds. No other dealer group provides its representatives with anything like the Dover Experience.

This “client first” philosophy still dominates our business model. As does the technical support and emphasis on ASIC compliance and high professional standards.

Dover continues this tradition of first class service and support for representatives with minimal interference in their practices, at the lowest possible price, and maximum possible ASIC compliance.

Dover is a leader in the fee for service model, with most of our representatives working solely on a fee for service basis and not accepting commissions from clients. Dover can help you transition your practice to a fee for service model and can help you create new income streams in your practice.
