Hi Terry & Adrian,
I just wanted to take a minute to thank you both for the content that is included on my website and give you some feedback on how it has assisted me so far.
I received a signed initial advice agreement today to assist a couple in their mid 50’s pay down their non deductible debt, reduce their insurance costs, set up an SMSF ($400k between them) and revisit their estate planning, which hasn’t been looked at since 1994. This work has come off the back of an original concern of paying too much on their life insurance and credit cards. We’ve had multiple conversations to get to the point of starting some advice and they’ve done plenty of reading on my site. In particular the husband said he gained a lot from the SMSF eBook and it’s given them the information and confidence they needed to start one themselves, with some help. Before it had been something that sounded good however they didn’t know where to start.
By taking a little extra time to get to know the client and having the tools at my disposal to educate them I now have the opportunity to build a long term relationship with clients that in the past would’ve simply been a home loan refinance and life insurance application. They will get significantly more value and I have the chance of maintaining a client for life.
The first 12 months of business has been undeniably testing however the support I’ve received from the Dover and Aces teams has made it so much easier that trying to ‘go it alone’ – Especially considering there are plenty of licensee’s that would have been more concerned about the amount of business I’d brought in for them than what assistance they could give me. I thought you should both know that it is very much appreciated.

Common sense financial planning and great advise to clients – I actually feel like I can write business again and help my clients without fear of some Ogre over looking our every step…
Dover allows me to do the right thing by my clients without feeling that I have to support specific platforms and funds. I get a lot of value from the legal document service (Legal Edocs). What’s more, Dover doesn’t charge an arm and a leg which improves the profitability of my business. I would recommend Dover to any adviser looking for a different licensee.
We joined Dover in 2012.
Prior to this we ran our own AFSL for a year or so. Before that we were advisers of a major dealer group.
